چکیده

Perioperative Division, Vanderbilt Heart Institute, Vanderbilt University Medical Center Nashville, Tennessee, USA MTSAC Full Member of the Argentine Society of Cardiology 1 Cardiologist 2 Cardiac Surgeon The aneurysms of the sinus of Valsalva are rare and can be either congenital or acquired. They may not produce symptoms or present with complications which are often related to aneurysm rupture producing a comunication between the aorta and a cardiac chamber or, rarely, to mass effect on adjacent cardiac structures. We describe the case of a right sinus of Valsalva aneurysm producing right ventricular outflow tract obstruction.

Unruptured Sinus of Valsalva Aneurysm with Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction and Supracristal Ventricular Septal Defect: A Rare Case.

Unruptured right sinus of Valsalva aneurysm that causes severe obstruction of the right ventricular outflow tract is extremely rare. We describe the case of a 47-year-old woman who presented with exertional dyspnea. Upon investigation, we discovered an unruptured right sinus of Valsalva aneurysm with associated right ventricular outflow tract obstruction and a supracristal ventricular septal de...

Images in cardiovascular medicine: large unruptured aneurysm in sinus of Valsalva: an unusual cause of right ventricular inflow and outflow tract obstruction.

A 64-year-old man with a large cavitating squamous cell carcinoma (636 cm) in the right lower lobe of the lung was referred for prelobectomy cardiac assessment because of incidental finding of Q waves in leads II, III, and aVF on the ECG. Physical examination revealed an ejection systolic murmur at the left sternal edge. Cardiac size was normal on chest radiograph. A transthoracic echocardiogra...

A Case of Unruptured Aneurysm of the Right Sinus of Valsalva with Right Ventricular Outflow Obstruction

A 66-year-old man presented with exertional dyspnea. He was found to have an unruptured aneurysm of the right sinus of Valsalva causing significant right ventricular outflow obstruction. This aneurysm was diagnosed by transthoracic two-dimensional echocardiography, transthoracic three-dimensional echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, contrast echocardiography and 64-slice multidet...

A Case of Right Sinus of Valsalva Rupture with Dissection into Interventricular Septum Causing Left Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction

Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm (SVA) is an uncommon anomaly of the aorta. Rupture of SVA often precipitates dramatic clinical complications, including heart failures. Right SVAs are the most common type, and when they rupture, they usually rupture into the right ventricle or right atrium. Rupture into left ventricle or interventricular septum is rare. Herein, we report a case of right SVA rupture w...

CASE REPORT Echocardiographic Diagnosis of Ruptured Aneurysm of Sinus of Valsalva Report of Two Cases

Echocardiographic features of two cases of ruptured congenital aneurysm of Valsalva sinus with (case I) and without (case 2) a supracristal ventricular septal defect were studied before and after surgery by standard echocardiography, M-mode scan and twodimensional echocardiography. Discontinuity was observed in the echo from the aneurysm wall of the Valsalva sinus in case I with ruptured aneury...
